Historic Documents And Picture Images-Preserved For Research

Genealogy > Research > Historic Documents

Ancient History...
Over time, billions of historic moments have been captured in various ways.
At some point in early history, man became aware of the need to preserve information.
The early cave paintings of Lascaux, France are known for their age as well as prehistoric quality.

Regardless of the cave paintings exact age, their preservation was not by accident.
Their actual reason(s) are debatable, but that they recognized the importance of it is not.
A deliberate action to save important information for future generations represents forethought.

Established orders have long recognized historical value and follow it according to their needs.
Supporting evidence of most past regimes are usually accessible by normal channels.
Though original mediums change, the favored method is image reproduction.

Modern Day...
Fast forward into the era of a "recorded history"...
Early US history is protected from disappearing in several ways.
Some are on paintings, coins, stamps, photographs and written documents.
Today, more modern history events are recorded by audio and video types of media.

These range in importance levels from family history to world changing events.
Fortunately our government has provided a means for the preservation of documents.
Many significant ones are displayed publicly for all to see, and protected from any deterioration.

Many are provided via website for sharing with persons of casual interest or in depth research.
Though this is not a US History website, several notable images are afforded web space.
If there's something important or relevant that you would like to see, send an email.
