Project Rational:
The Revolutionary War split many households and friendships.
United States, France, England/British, Indian each had a following.
Canada was as equally populated as the colony during that time.
This meant they were key to the power balance during the war.
An understanding of the Canadian mindset is being sought here.
Just why did some join forces with the US, and some with Britain?
Objective & Purpose:
Finding any/all family surnames residing along the St Laurent Bank.
Comparing of local involvement to the American Revolutionary War.
Data/Info To Be Collected:
Name, Born, Died, Township, Occupation or Military Involvement.
Single, Married, Widowed or Divorced info may also be helpful.
Any additional data or info is welcome.
Specific Criterias:
Timeframe:
January 1777
This is widely considered to be the peak decision making month.
So many things had happened that it could no longer be put off.
No matter which country a person favored, it was now or die.
Age Groups:
All ages are included-
Complete family lists preferred, as they may hold clues to choices.
Include all living as well as those that died during that month.
Location/Geographical Area:
From Levis, then northeast to La Pocatiere and Riviere Ouelle.
Both inland and waterfront areas.
Including the following:
Lived in or moved from these areas during or shortly after January.
